All I had to do was follow their path with the flashlight and the experience automatically teleported me from the living room, to the kitchen, and eventually to the hallway. Things start out in Joyce Byers’ (Winona Ryder) living room as the lights around her are illuminating like they do in Season 1 of the show. In fact, SDCC this week is the first time the Vive edition of it has been available to the general public. ![]() This 360 video was the most accessible and the Vive version was a step above that. But at SDCC we got the chance to try out the fully roomscale Vive version of it and came away very impressed.Īfter talking with CBS Digital, the creators of the Stranger Things VR experience, it was clear that they designed different versions on purpose. This experience is available for free today on the Oculus store.Stranger Things was one of last year’s best new shows on Netflix or otherwise. This is an interactive experience with an original storyline, the latest DLC for Face Your Fears takes you to the sleepy town of Hawkins, Indiana, where you’ll encounter a series of spine-tingling events in the everyday world and its uncanny reflection, the Upside Down. Oculus has also teamed up with Turtle Rock and Netflix to release Face Your Fears: Stranger Things VR experience on the Gear VR. While we aren’t quite sure what Stranger Things: The VR Experience will entail, it will be quite striking to visit Hawkins in VR. This is the first time that Netflix is creating a special VR experience with Sony on PlayStation VR as Netflix is rather known to be an online video streaming service. The trailer also states that the experience will be coming soon to PlayStation VR. They blink in a certain to describe a word and in this case it spells out “PSVR.” In the video above you can see the Christmas lights that were ever so popular in Season 1 of the show. ![]() The trailer itself is nothing special but what makes it exciting is that the popular hit show will be made into a VR experience. Now, they’ve released another bit of information on a new IP called Stranger Things: The VR Experience in collaboration with Netflix. Just this week they’ve announced and released information to various upcoming VR games such as Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown, Moss, Star Child, and Blood & Truth. Sony is full-steam ahead when it comes to PlayStation VR and unique IPs. ![]()
